Mallard's Landing Deadlines coming up.

Greetings all,
As we wind down the season of summer work outdoors, I wanted to give you all a friendly reminder that the annual show at Mallard's Landing is coming up. I encourage you to submit ( 4-7 pieces ) your work for the show so that we can share with the community what PAL artists have worked on outdoors during the summer. Trying a new medium and not screened in it yet? There will be an opportunity to do that before the meeting a week from now. Also consider that any paintings/drawings done outdoor this year( Drawing you in, Plein air group, Urban Sketchers, Garden tour, Vacation, even your own backyard/garden) is completely acceptable for this venue.
Support your local art group while promoting your own accomplishments and bring your artwork the afternoon of Friday October 2nd to Mallard's Landing. Volunteers to help me collect artwork and hang the show would be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions and can RSVP to let me know how many pieces you can bring please (name, title, price, medium... for tags) by the Sept. 27th.  Email me  and thanks for being a part of this great oppertunity. -Feather

Cheers to the plein air season

For our final event of the season I thought we would celebrate at the vineyards in Olalla. We will have 8 acres of grapes accompanied by lavender and some formal garden areas. There is a creek area that is forested and plenty of sitting area nooks to inspire you. Come paint, come taste, come relax but come rain or shine to join me for the final event of the season at 9:30 sharp... and bring a lunch that works with... lavender wine? Cheers!

Point Defiance Rose Garden September 10th

For this incredibly nice weather we are heading for Tacoma's Point Defiance... what is not to love there? An astonishing abundance of blooms are flooding the rose garden for us to paint the petals as this week promises to provide sunshine for our event. Not into roses? They have so much variety of flowers among the boarders (along the fence) that you won't be disappointed. Bring your bright colors. Start time is 9:30. See you there!

September 3rd...Finholm/Bogue Viewing Platform

Hello all,
Forecast is calling for some serious storms to move into the area for Thursdays. If they are anything like last weekend I don't believe we want to brave the elements but who knows in Gig Harbor. Rather then our regular adventure I had scheduled we are going to stay close... if the weather holds we can go to the Finholm area. There is a platform right off the street (beside Seahag's gift shop) and directly behind the parking lot across the street, there is a set of stairs that ascend for the same view from a different perspective. If you go up the road towards Anthony's resteraunt there is access down to a few piers of which one has the rent-a- boat.. for color. If it's rainy/blustery/threatening by 9 you all can take your chances but if the weather looks good I'll head to the site to arrive between 9:30 and 10:00.  Bogue Viewing Platform 8763 North Harborview Drive just across the street from Finholm market.
