Plein air session begins Thursday June 5th

It's Plein air season and time for all PAL landscape enthusiast to pack their gear and head out for some fun in the sun!!! The  first outing is this Thursday June 5th at 9 (ish) am- till lunch time at the  Cresent Creek Cathie Johnson will also "hosting" at her house close to the Park-9508 Randall Dr NW.

Park area which includes one of 2 parking/gathering places: the park or Cathie's House.

Crescent Creek Estuary is at the far end of Gig Harbor bay with view from road. The Crescent Creek Park on Vernhardsen has great trees, old picnic structure, deck overlooks above Cresent Creek with a windy waterway from the bridge at the street onto the waterway.

   Cathie's yard offers water and boat views.There is a cute garden with nautical accents. If you continue  down the road  past Cathie's, you will find an older house (one Victorian) and an interesting barn. Continue to the end of the road to discover a boat launch at the end of the road- views of harbor and boaters. Bring a sack lunch to enjoy with your fellow artists toward the noon time hour.

From Gig Harbor DOWNTOWN- follow Harborview Drive around past History Museum and past Anthony's till it T's into Vernhardsen-
Turn right onto Vernhardsen
Turn right on second street (Randall) for Cathie's House- or go a tad further and turn left into Crescent Creek Park.
Restrooms at Park, Cathies home or Porta Potti at Boat Launch.

Netshed show generously received

It was sunny skies and a warm reception at the Civic Center Monday as the artists of the year long project celebrated it's successful gathering of their efforts.

 PAL members worked meticulously to create 58 representations of Netsheds to share thier hometown heritage with community and visitors in this 6 week long show that displays through June 15th.

Netshed show on display in the Civic Center May 1st-June 15th

   Almost a year after gathering our art community to visit and render  the 17  Netsheds of Gig Harbor, we all came together  to show and share those efforts. Our individual experiences of these historical structures, allow us to share the past by bring  these impressions into the present  through our visual voice.  As artists we are leaving our  lasting memories for the future community of residents that live among our models. Whether  "in conjunction with" or "out of curiosity  for" these structures that define Gig Harbor's past we hope you enjoy the show. 
   On behalf of Peninsula Art League and  your local plein air facilitators (Anne and Feather), we thank each and every artist who contributed their "loving creations" to this 58 piece show  which is proudly displayed through June 15th in the Civic Center. We are honored that you joined us to share these efforts with our community and visitors.
